Lambretta 1965 Li 150 Golden Special
Since the late 1940s, motor scooters have emerged as a preferred mode of economical personal transportation, with Italian manufacturers leading the forefront. Piaggio paved the way with the introduction of the Vespa in 1945, swiftly followed by Innocenti's Lambretta in 1947. The LI range debuted in 1958, offering both 125cc and 150cc versions.
The Golden Specials, crafted by Lambretta from 1963 to 1966, epitomised a sportier alternative to the standard Li 150, catering to the demand for faster scooters. However, amidst this quest for speed, style always reigned supreme, particularly with the iconic and effortlessly cool Lambretta brand.

More About the Golden Special
This particular 1965 Li 150 Golden Special, has been meticulously restored to its former glory, and now graces our museum thanks to the generosity of Geoff Hobman
from Cliviger near Burnley. Originally imported from Malta in 2006, this Golden Special arrived in a disheartening condition, cloaked in a coat of blue paint. Undeterred by his lack of prior restoration experience, Geoff embarked on a journey of dedication and craftsmanship. Stripping it down to its core, he painstakingly replaced part after part, breathing new life into its worn frame. Finally, with skilled hands and an eye for detail, Geoff resprayed it in a resplendent gold and white finish, restoring it fully to its original splendor.
