World’s oldest surviving TVR heads from Cumbria to renowned Goodwood Revival

The oldest surviving TVR is taking a holiday from the Lakeland Motor Museum to help celebrate the car manufacturer’s 70th birthday - and the launch of an all-new TVR – at the Goodwood Revival
(8-10 September 2017).

The annual three-day festival at the Goodwood circuit is known globally for celebrating the halcyon days of motor racing and the 1952 TVR Number 2 will be making a special guest appearance at this year’s event.

It comes as TVR marks a return to production in its 70th birthday year, with a new 200mph sportscar from the revived TVR company, in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design.

The 1952 TVR Number 2 is currently on long-term loan to the Lakeland Motor Museum, but will take pride of place at Goodwood to show the full evolution of the iconic marque.

Bill Bewley, Director of the Lakeland Motor Museum, says, “It seems fitting that the TVR Number Two will be on display at the Goodwood Revival alongside TVR’s brand new super sleek high-performance car.

With a local heritage down the coast at Blackpool, the TVR Number Two always attracts a lot of attention and I’m sure it will be a great talking point for one of the biggest motoring events of the year.”
