Drive away this Boxing Day with classic car spectacular
Motoring enthusiasts can take a break from the turkey and tinsel this Boxing Day with a special gathering of vintage vehicles and modern classics at the Lakeland Motor Museum.
It will be the third time the attraction has held a ‘Drive and Ride In Day’ over the festive season, after a surge in interest from classic car owners wanting to make the most of their time off between Christmas and New Year.
The event on Monday 26 December 2016 (9am - 4pm) is open to all, with owners of classic motor cars, motorcycles, trucks and vans able to display their pride and joy just outside the museum for other visitors to view.
As well as vintage marques spanning much of the 20th century, a selection of modern classics and high-performance cars from the last decade are also expected to participate.
The Drive and Ride In Day is also a chance for both drivers and passengers to take a look at the Museum’s ever-changing exhibits at a reduced admission price. With recent arrivals including a rare 100 Jaguar SS and a futuristic electric superbike, there is plenty for returning visitors to enjoy.
Director at the Lakeland Motor Museum, Edwin Maher, says, “For anyone wanting to do something slightly different this Boxing Day, our Drive and Ride In Day offers a special festive spectacle and an opportunity for anyone with a shared passion for our motoring heritage to get together on a social basis.
He adds, “Of course, it’s also a great way to introduce the younger generation to some of the most iconic styles to have graced our roads.”
There will be free parking for all visitors, as well as participating drivers and their passengers, with no need to book.
